Signing Savvy is an online and offline dictionary app for American Sign Language (ASL). The app is the most comprehensive reference book for the language and is ideal for those who want to learn or improve their signing.
Signing Savvy is the first sign language app to allow users to view and search through videos of signs. The videos are organized by categories, including animals, body, family, food, hands, hobbies, love, music, numbers, objects, pets, and sports. The videos are presented in a grid and allow users to scroll through them in either a horizontal or vertical direction.
When a user selects a category, a video is presented, and they can view it at full resolution. If they select a specific video, it will play in the app. The user can search through the videos by entering keywords into the search box at the top of the screen.
In addition to videos, the app includes thousands of words and phrases that are organized by category. Users can select words or phrases and can also add their own words or phrases. The app allows users to share words and phrases with other users and can create word lists.
The app also includes a vocabulary builder that allows users to build their own vocabulary lists. When a user selects a word or phrase, a photo of the sign is presented and they can choose to view it in the app. If they select a word, the app will present the word and allow them to view the meaning.
